President's Message: Let's finish strong! It's been a fantastic season.

Dear Colorado Springs Philharmonic Guild members,

Thank you for your interest in our Philharmonic Guild. We are finalizing our slate for the Guild board of directors 2022/23 season and have appreciated your feedback and suggestions. We will publish the slate 30 days prior to our general meeting which takes place Wednesday, May 18.

Our fundraising season is coming to a close, and we're going out with a big party at Gold Hill Mesa's Community Room.

Join us for our second annual Kentucky Derby Party and Fundraiser Saturday, May 7, 3 to 6 p.m. at Gold Hill Mesa. We are going to have a great party, including Mint Juleps, bourbon tasting, a Derby Hat contest, a friendly wager on which horse is going to win, a live bluegrass band....and of course, last year's guest horse was a real favorite. Buy your tickets here.

I have enjoyed my time volunteering with the Colorado Springs Philharmonic Guild board of directors. We have planned so many great programs and events, and it truly makes a difference to our Philharmonic Orchestra. Thank you for allowing me the opportunity to serve the Philharmonic Guild.

Most sincerely,
Joy Maples

2nd Annual Kentucky Derby Party is Saturday, May 7, 3 pm

Hand muddled Mint Juleps, a Derby Hat Contest judged by Vicki Dimond, and  Mayor John and Janet Suthers; Derby-inspired heavy hors d'oeuvres, a group sing along of the long standing tradition of "My Kentucky Home" and of course, a friendly wager on who wins the Derby. We'll gather around the big screens to watch a live broadcast of the Derby.

It all happens Saturday, May 7 between 3 and 6 p.m. The live broadcast will be around 4:30 p.m. Enjoy a signature cocktail created by Distillery 291 and enjoy a wonderful afternoon with a live bluegrass band, our friendly horse, and an opportunity to help raise money for the Philharmonic. Thanks to Gold Hill Mesa for hosting us in their community room and we look forward to seeing you there. Buy tickets here.

Our thanks to Sparks Willson, Gold Hill Mesa, Distillery 291,  Dr. Nicolas and Trudi Pruett, and Prime 25. for their support of the Philharmonic Guild.

Who can forget this great shot of board members Justin Burns and Leslie Castle enjoying our "live" horse at last year's Kentucky Derby Party. Buy your tickets for this year's Derby Party, Saturday, May 7, 3 p.m.
