Here are the nominees to fill the slate of board members for the Philharmonic Guild
The Nominating Committee is pleased to announce the following slate of nominees for the 2024-2025 Colorado Springs Philharmonic Board of Directors. This slate will be voted on by the general membership through electronic vote from 8 a.m. May 31 to 9 p.m. June 5.
Natalie Gowen, President
Natalie Gowen is the Founder and Creative Director of Moxie Tonic Marketing. In addition to 15 years in web design and marketing Natalie works hard to improve the Colorado Springs community through volunteer and philanthropy efforts, including the Southern Colorado Women’s Chamber of Commerce Foundation, Southern Colorado Runners Club, The Women’s Resource Agency, and more. A lifelong lover of the arts, Natalie studied classical piano for over 20 years and continues to support and appreciate live performance and classical music. Along with her husband, she's raising her four boys to love all things outdoors and Colorado.
Herman Tiemens, Vice President
Herman is an Executive Director and Financial Advisor with The Purple Mountain Group at Morgan Stanley. Previously, he ran a wealth group at Wells Fargo Advisors for almost 12.5 years and has served in many leadership roles in the financial space for many years prior. Herman served as one of the past Chairman & Honorary Board Member of the Colorado Springs Philharmonic and past President of the Estate Planning Council. Currently, Herman is the President of the Southern Colorado Chapter of the Financial Planning Association and a Board Member of the Colorado Springs Chinese Cultural Institute.
Meredith Sherman, Secretary
Meredith is a Colorado Springs native with a passion for the Springs community and its long-term growth and development. Meredith is the Regional Director of Construction and Operations for CommonSpirit Health and has grown her career in the medical field serving as a leader and vital contributor to the success of innovation and growth. She serves as the Board Chair for the Thomas MacLaren School Board, the Advisory Board Chair for the Women in Healthcare Denver Chapter, Vice President of the American Medical Facilities Professional Board as well and Chairman Elect for the Colorado Springs Historic Preservation Board.
Julianna Bond, Treasurer
Julianna is a Tax Manager at Stockman Kast Ryan + Co. She started her full time career in Charlotte, NC where she was part of the Global Employer Services (GES) tax team. She specialized in expatriate and inpatriate taxation where she assisted clients with United States tax compliance and help with their employees to understand the tax implications that come with traveling outbound and inbound of the United States. Julianna is part of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) and Colorado Society of Certified Public Accountants (COCPA). She enjoys running, hiking, camping, the outdoors and hanging out with her husband + dog.
Jennifer Oliverio, Member at Large
Jennifer is a financial advisor with Edward Jones. With over a decade of experience and a commitment to continued education she works collaboratively to bring financial strategies to live. Beyond her professional endeavors, she enjoys spending time with her family, her cat, Scout, and dog, Luna. Deeply committed to giving back to the community she is involved with various organizations such as the USO, Mt Carmel Veterans Service Center, Rotary, Chamber of Commerce, EDC and United Way. Her involvement helps her find find great meaning in contributing to the well-being of our community.
Terri Pederson, Member at Large
Terri is a Colorado native with a music degree from the University of Northern Colorado and an MBA from Colorado Technical University. Terri has worked as a freelance musician and played trumpet with several Denver based community orchestras. Terri’s career in the tech sector most recently includes 12 years as a Vice President at dpiX, LLC, the global leader in digital flat panel design and manufacturing for medical imaging. Terri's retirement in 2019 is dedicated to music, the arts, and fishing with her husband Kevin. Terri is a member of the KCME and Jazz 93.5 sales team where she works part time with local businesses and organizations. She also leads and plays trumpet with Tidal Breeze Jazz Arts, performing and promoting Jazz in the community, as well as serving on two music related non-profit boards.
Sean Lange, Member at Large
Sean is a native to Colorado Springs, although he spent a few years in New Mexico and California as a child. He graduated from Rampart High School and UCCS. Currently, Sean works in cybersecurity in both his civilian and military careers, currently serving in the Air Force Reserve. Between the Navy and Air Force Reserves, he’s been in the military for 17 years. Sean loves Colorado and all it has to offer. Sean and his wife, Kristen Christy, have been season ticket holders to the Philharmonic for approximately 10 years. During that time, they have donated to the Philharmonic and the Guild. They have been members of the guild as well. Sean has also served as a board member for the CS Youth Symphony. Sean says “I love our Philharmonic and want to see it grow and continue to succeed.”
Sally Sharpe, Member at Large
Sally has been serving as a Board Member of the Colorado Springs Philharmonic Guild. In addition to her service to the Guild, she has always been an integral part of the Colorado Springs Philharmonic team. Sally serves on the Colorado Springs Philharmonic Board of Directors and is also a part of the music director search committee. She has been contributing her time and money to supporting the arts in the Colorado Springs community for over 15 years. We are very fortunate that Sally is interested in continuing to serve as a Board Member of the Colorado Springs Philharmonic Guild.
Carolyn Geiser, Member at Large
Carolyn is a native of Colorado Springs who attended Palmer high school, University of Colorado at Colorado Springs, Colorado College, and Denver University. She is a retired university professor
and past academic dean and chairperson of three different departments. She has been a board member of a non-profit organization for over 10 years in various positions including as a member-at-large, vice president, president, and the current treasurer.
Catherine Creppon, Member at Large
Catherine is the Founder and CEO of Page Public Relations for a little over 3 years now. She is a fervent marketer and communications consultant with more than 20 years' experience in nonprofit management. Specifically, she specializes in the creation, placement and dissemination of communications and marketing materials to grow audiences for arts non-profit organizations such as orchestras, ballets, opera companies and more. Previously, she was the Vice President of Advancement for the Colorado Springs Philharmonic Orchestra for almost 7 years.
Stephanie Horton, Member at Large
Stephanie is the General Manager of Cheyenne Mountain Public Broadcast House (Classical KCME and Jazz 93.5). She joined the stations in July 2020 as Development and Marketing Director and has served as a strong leader ever since. She has a passion to help others through working with nonprofits and community involvement.
Longinos Gonzalez, Member at Large
Longinos has served District 4 on the Board of County Commissioners of El Paso County for almost 7.5 years. Graduating from the Air Force Academy in 1992, Longinos returned to Colorado Springs because of his love for the outdoors and beauty of the region, particularly the mountainous Front Range. He enjoys hiking in our areas' great parks and trails and is an avid fisherman and tennis player. His background includes a 20-year career as an Air Force Intelligence officer, retiring as a Lt. Colonel in 2012. Longinos has a Master's Degree in science education and he was a teacher with Harrison School District 2 prior to his election. Longinos' community involvement includes serving on the State Board of Veterans Affairs and the boards of Mt Carmel and CASA, and being a volunteer Sunday school teacher and lector at his church.

Next order of business: An amendment to the bylaws of the Colorado Springs Philharmonic Guild:
In Article V, Section 5.1. "Standing Committees" the board has approved the addition of a Governance Committee to the list of standing committees. The purpose of the Governance Committee being:
Purpose: The Governance Committee will assist Board of Directors adhere to Bylaws. The Governance Committee is charged by the Board of Directors with the tasks needed to recruit and develop an excellent, high performing Board in accordance with our mission and strategic objectives.
Scope: The Governance Committee monitors terms and board strength and weakness and makes recommendations to the Nominating Committee that is formed by the President of the Guild.
