Happy Holidays from
the Philharmonic Guild

PictureColorado Springs Philharmonic Guild president Joy Maples
We are back! Well, the Guild never left. There were times when it felt that we should just adopt a "wait and see" attitude. Several people asked why were we still holding our monthly meetings? Why did we hold the Peachy Party fundraiser when the orchestra was not performing?" The money raised, and the community cultivated during the down time prepared us for right now: we are in a strong position to continue moving forward, raising money for the Colorado Springs Philharmonic, the Colorado Springs Youth Symphony, as well as a few other youth and music programs.

Speaking of monthly meetings, our Guild Holiday Party will be held Wednesday,  5 to 7 p.m. Dec. 15,  at the Antlers Hotel's Picadilly Lounge. Please RSVP here. We will feature live music performed by pianist Sharon Skidgel and vocalist CC Wells.

There is no program scheduled for January to accommodate the Winter Dinner, which has been moved to Thursday, January 27, 6 pm at the new U.S. Olympic and Paralympic Museum. We will feature a live performance of several pieces including Tchaikovsky Serenade for Strings,  Vivaldi Winter (The Four Seasons), and Piazzolla Invierno Porteño (Buenos Aires Winter from Estaciones Porteña). We hope you will join us for this black-tie optional gala. RSVP here, or contact Catherine Creppon if you would like to be a sponsor for this year's Winter Dinner.

Happy Holidays!

Warmly,
Joy Maples
President, Colorado Springs Philharmonic Guild

The Nutcracker Boutique a success!

A few of the many volunteers that made the Nutcracker Boutique so successful. Many thanks to co-chairs Trudi Pruett and Susan Callahan for their work in producing this year's boutique. Photo by Lisa Czelatdko
Guild Board Member Trudi Pruett, and co-chair Susan Callahan did an excellent job of running this year's boutique. With short notice, and abbreviated performances,  this committee prevailed and brought in a great amount of money that will go to the Guild's annual donation to the Colorado Springs Philharmonic Orchestra. Thank you to the volunteers that made the difference in this event running so smoothly.
