Colorado Springs Philharmonic Guild monthly email newsletter January 2020
As a Colorado Springs Philharmonic Guild member, and current president, it delights me to let you know that the next generation of musicianship is alive and well. I hope you will be as delighted with our Young Soloists winners' performances as I. I am also pleased to announce that this year's scholarship awards for the young musicians in our community has been expanded to include not only the winners of the contest, but additionally, a few hardship situations that have been brought to our attention. We thank our Guild members for their generous support, and respectfully ask for your continued help in this area that is dear to our hearts. It is time for me to choose the Nominating Committee. I want to get a diverse group that represented a past board member, a present board member, and a member in good standing from the present membership. The following people have accepted a position on the committee. • Vicki Dimond: Vicki has agreed to be the Chair and is representing the present Guild Membership. • Joy Maples: Represents the present Board. • Mary Koepp: A past Guild member and past Board President. This group will submit the nominees for publication in the April newsletter. They will need to nominate a President, Chair of the Programs Committee, and a person to to work as Co-Chair with Sharon Schneider and Cheryl Schwartz on the Nutcracker Boutique. Happy February and I look forward to seeing many of you soon. Most sincerely, Hope Mena Guild Board President Derby Hat Shopping Party at Motif in April
