Happy New Year!!
Dear Guild members and friends,
The Colorado Springs Philharmonic Guild continues to press on into the new year. We have a few things in the works. We will not have a membership program in January. Coming up in February, our February Membership Program will feature a Broadway-style program at the Broadmoor's Lower Level Lake Terrace Dining Room. The program takes place Saturday, Feb. 27, 3 to 5 p.m. We will send out an evite shortly. If you want the evening to continue after the program, sign up for our "A Night In" fundraiser, taking place the same night. Enjoy the membership program, and then stay the night at the fabulous Broadmoor, enjoy a meal at one of the re opened restaurants, and catch the Christmas lights, which remain up through Sunday, Feb. 28, 2021. We wrap up 2020 with good news. Our 2020 Winter Dinner was a fabulous affair. A special thank you and sincere gratitude to Michael Hanson, concertmaster of the Colorado Springs Philharmonic, who selected (and performed) the pieces featured during our program. Thanks also to Music Director Josep Caballé Domenech for preparing and submitting his videotaped comments from overseas. Thank you to Steve Weed Media for the professional and enjoyable video taped performance of our "virtual" Winter Dinner. Thanks to each one of you for your giving, for your participation in the auction, and we would like to thank our sponsors (listed below). COVID has changed a lot for us, as individuals living in this community, and as an organization trying to move forward into a new normal; our Winter Dinner chair Andrew Will navigated us through the murky waters of the changing mandates as the planning moved forward. The Guild successfully raised more than $30,000. We could not have done it without the help of the Philharmonic staff, the musicians -- for their tremendous performance, and the Guild board and Guild members for their ongoing support. Bravo!! We also thank Keven Stewart for his participation, along with the gifted young musicians of the Colorado Springs Youth Symphony for inserting a performance into our Winter Dinner program. And speaking of the Youth Symphony, Lisa and I were able to attend the Young Solo Artist competition a few Saturdays ago and were overwhelmed by the talent, the composure, and the character of these young performers. The Guild is very thankful to be continuing its focus on this program and we welcome your feedback and ideas of how to expand and grow our relationship with Colorado Springs youth symphony. Most Sincerely, Lisa Keenan and Joy Maples, Co-presidents, CS Philharmonic Guild Thanks to our Winter Dinner sponsors for their support of music

Upcoming Membership Programs
We have no member program scheduled for January.
February's program features a Broadway-style program inside the theater at The Broadmoor. Valet parking is available for no additional charge. The program is scheduled for Saturday, February 27, 2021, from 3 to 5 p.m. in the afternoon. RSVP here. In March, we will have the winners of the Colorado Springs Youth Symphony's (CSYSA) Young Solo Artist competition. This will be a lunch meeting on Wednesday, March 17, at the new CSYSA facility at 3113 Primrose Dr., Colorado Springs, 80907. A Night In @ The Broadmoor, Saturday, February 27, 2020.
The Philharmonic Guild's "A Night In" is a fundraiser for the Guild and its programs. We held this fundraiser last year for the first time and had a great time! We organized a reception for all who participated and had a lot of fun.
As Colorado's mandates slowly ease, the Broadmoor has reopened restaurants and its theater. We are planning a Broadway type show with a reception that will serve as our monthly program for February, as well as the kick off for the "A Night In" if you choose to stay the night and enjoy the opportunity to be out of your house. Living where we do, we have access locally to one of the most fabulous resorts in the country. Stay safe. Stay local. As a guest of the resort, The Broadmoor leave the Christmas lights up through Feb. 28, 2021. Enjoy a night away from it all, Saturday, February 27, 2021. RSVP and pay here. Jim and Carol Montgomery receive local arts award
The UCCS Galleries of Contemporary Art Advisory Board honored Carol and James Montgomery as the 2020 "Ron Brasch Kick Ass for the Arts Award" recipients back in November 2020 via a zoom event. If you are involved in the arts community in Colorado Springs, you surely know Carol and James (Jim) Mongomery and have likely benefited from their passionate and tireless support of visual arts, theater, music, dance and students/developing artists. Jim and Carol have provided a significant legacy after decades in the Pikes Peak region, advancing the arts and culture in our area.
Congratulations to our very own Carol and Jim Montgomery. The Colorado Springs Philharmonic has a very fun fundraiser going on this month. Modeled after the "Nutcracker Survival Kit" which was a huge success, the Valentine Survival Kit will include a box of goodies, two splits of sparking wine, a potted succulent, and some suggested musical programming. Orders must be complete by Feb 9. Deliveries will be Feb. 11 through Feb. 14. Order here.
And, if you would like to help us with the delivery, we would love to have you join us! Ros Block and Joy Maples will be setting up delivery dates. If you could commit to two days, four hours each day, that would be terrific and a wonderful way to help the Philharmonic during this time. Email us here if you would like to volunteer to deliver.
